The Journal of Life Sciences and Biomedicine is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access academic journal dedicated to advancing knowledge in biology, life sciences, and medicine. The journal provides a platform for publishing original contributions in both basic and applied research, aiming to bridge scientific discoveries with clinical and practical applications.

We publish a wide spectrum of research topics, including:

Journal Policies

The Journal of Life Sciences & Biomedicine follows international best practices in scholarly publishing as recommended by:


1. Archiving Policy

The journal ensures the permanent preservation and accessibility of its content through:

Authors may self-archive preprints, accepted manuscripts, or the final publisher’s PDF in institutional, personal, or disciplinary repositories, in compliance with our open-access policy.

Editorial decisions are completely independent of commercial advertising and sponsorship. Advertisements must:

  • Clearly identify the product/service and sponsor.

  • Comply with legal, ethical, and health regulations.

  • Exclude harmful, misleading, or inappropriate content.


4. Marketing Policy

All promotional and marketing activities are reviewed and approved by the Editorial Office to ensure professionalism, accuracy, and alignment with the journal’s mission.


5. Plagiarism Policy

All manuscripts are screened using Turnitin plagiarism detection software. Suspected plagiarism is handled according to COPE flowcharts: https://publicationethics.org/resources/flowcharts.

The journal complies with the standards of the Supreme Attestation Commission under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.


6. Authorship Issues and Disputes

The journal follows ICMJE authorship criteria (http://www.icmje.org/recommendations):

  • Substantial contribution to conception, design, or analysis.

  • Drafting or revising critically for intellectual content.

  • Final approval of the manuscript.

  • Accountability for accuracy and integrity.

Disputes must be resolved by authors’ institutions; the Editorial Office will not arbitrate.

All published content is licensed under CC BY 4.0. Authors retain full copyright and may freely distribute, share, and adapt their work, provided attribution is given.


8. Author Name Change Policy

The journal respects requests for author name changes (due to gender identity, marriage/divorce, religious conversion, etc.). Updated versions are issued without publishing an erratum unless requested.


9. Ethical Policy for Research Involving Vulnerable Populations

Research involving children, pregnant women, persons with disabilities, patients with life-threatening diseases, or disadvantaged groups must adhere to:

  • Declaration of Helsinki (WMA link)

  • Institutional/national ethics committee approval

  • Explicit rationale for inclusion and adapted informed consent procedures

Authors guarantee that submitted work:

  • Is original and unpublished.

  • Does not violate copyright or intellectual property rights.

  • Has ethical approval where required.

11. Peer Review

The journal follows a double-blind peer review system. Guidelines are aligned with COPE Ethical Guidelines for Peer Reviewers: COPE link.

12. Author Appeals

Authors may appeal rejected manuscripts by submitting evidence-based justifications. Appeals are reviewed by an independent editorial board member.

13. Supplemental Information

Supporting materials (datasets, images, video, appendices) may be published online alongside the article.

14. Data Sharing

Authors should provide a Data Availability Statement and are encouraged to deposit data in public repositories (e.g., Dryad, Zenodo, Figshare).

15. Permissions

Authors must secure written permission for all third-party content (figures, tables, or text excerpts).

16. Conflict of Interest

All financial and non-financial conflicts must be declared, in line with ICMJE conflict of interest disclosure forms: http://www.icmje.org/conflicts-of-interest/.

17. Plagiarism and Copyright Infringement

Articles with confirmed plagiarism or copyright violation will be retracted in accordance with COPE Retraction Guidelines: COPE retraction policy.

18. Editorial Independence

Editorial decisions are based solely on academic merit and free from institutional, political, or financial influence.

19. Editorial Responsibilities

Editors commit to fair peer review, confidentiality, transparency, and ethical integrity.

20. Publisher Responsibilities

The publisher ensures the preservation, discoverability, and integrity of published content.

21. Open Access Policy

The journal follows the Budapest Open Access Initiative (https://www.budapestopenaccessinitiative.org). Articles are freely available immediately under CC BY 4.0.

22. Fees and Charges

No submission, processing, or publication fees are charged.
